Can we stop pretending that wrapping yourself in a flag makes you morally correct?
Because here’s the truth: some of the loudest people yelling about “freedom” don’t actually want freedom — they want control. They want the aesthetic of patriotism without doing a single thing to support the people who live in this country.
They love the troops… but vote against veterans’ benefits.
They scream “support working Americans”… but side with billionaires every time.
They wave flags on holidays, post bald eagle memes, and scream about the Constitution — but go silent the minute actual Americans need help.
That’s not patriotism. That’s political cosplay.
Meanwhile, people who question the government? Who push for reform? Who ask why we’re spending billions on weapons while Americans ration insulin?
They get labeled “ungrateful.”
“Un-American.”
“Woke.”
Let me make this clear: questioning your government is not unpatriotic. It’s literally the most American thing you can do. We didn’t dump tea in the harbor because we loved the crown.
If your love for this country stops the second someone criticizes it — maybe what you love isn’t the country, but the illusion of control it gives you.
